About Marble Distilling Company

Carbondale is our location, but our roots are just up the road in Marble, Colorado.

Population - 100, Marble is but a ghostly glimpse of its heyday in the early 20th century; when it was a bustling town of several thousand playing a pivotal role in the architectural history of America. Skillful workers from around the world quarried, hauled and carved massive blocks of marble for the Lincoln Memorial, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and other inspiring monuments and buildings that dot the national landscape. Today the Yule Marble Quarry yields the highest quality marble of metamorphosed limestone in the world, making it the perfect, all natural filtration system for Marble Spirits.

The water in Marble spills from the headwaters of the Crystal River.  Pristine and, naturally, marble filtered, this water was the inspiration for our Marble spirits.

We are a family & friends owned and operated company born in the heart of the Colorado Rockies.  Founders, Connie Baker and Carey Shanks, who live in Marble, combined their two passions, Craft Distilling and Sustainable Business to create the first distillery in the USA to recycle 100% of process water and capture / reuse the energy from the distilling process.  Enlisting Carey’s sister and brother-in-law, Dorian and Rob DiPangrazio, who relocated from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the in-laws bonded together over a combined passion for crafting spirits in the old world tradition and built an artisan distillery where energy conservation and environmental sustainability is a daily practice.  Long-time family friends, Keith and Michelle Marlow, made life-changing decisions to join the MDC partnership and passionately promote true handcrafted spirits made in the Roaring Fork Valley.  And keeping us all in line is Mandy Brennan, the hardest working Soccer Mom you'll ever meet!

“From our family to yours, offering small batch – handcrafted spirits with true Colorado flavor. Always Drink Responsibly and Why Not Sustainably!"
